Senior Instructor – Manvinder Hutchings
My passion and interest for Chinese Martial Arts had been a part of my childhood and later in my twenties, I found myself joining SiFu David Miller’s Bishop’s Stortford Tai Chi evening class.
Having completed a Law Degree I came across a newspaper advertisement for a new Tai Chi evening class, the advert listed the benefits of joining, the name of the class instructor and a telephone number. After 20 minutes conversation over the telephone with a David Miller, I agreed a date to start an evening class. I received a letter and a leaflet detailing the times and costs for the class….twenty plus years on, is where I am now.
The Art of Tai Ji Quan – ATJQ
I am one of the Senior Instructors and teach weekly in Bishop’s Stortford and Saffron Walden, I also teach at monthly senior and student training classes in Great Chesterford.
When I am not teaching ATJQ, I practice Traditional Chinese Medicine Acupuncture, my interest from ATJQ lead me to Acupuncture as both disciplines complement one another, the emphasis on healing the mind and body, balancing the intrinsic flow of Qi, or life force energy.
I am the British Acupuncture Council (National Governing Body for Acupuncture UK) Regional Co-Ordinator for Essex and Hertfordshire, and have held this post for 3 years.
For the last three years I have been on the Executive Board of the British Council for Chinese Martial Arts (BCCMA), the National Governing Body for Chinese Martial Arts in the UK. As of May 2020 I will be appointed the BCCMA Treasurer and have held a privileged position on the BCCMA Management Committee for over a year.
